The AMAze Group™ Co-Leader Scouting America - Spring 2026
Project type
Marketing Consultation Deliverable
Date
February 2026-May 2026
Location
University of Tennessee, Knoxville
As Co-Leader of the American Marketing Association’s AMAze Group at the University of Tennessee, I helped lead a 10-person student marketing team through a nine-week consulting project in partnership with Scouting America. The project provided an opportunity to apply marketing strategy, project management, client communication, and collaborative problem-solving in a professional, client-facing environment.
I co-led weekly, hour-long team meetings throughout the project, helping establish priorities, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and ensure the team remained aligned with project deadlines and expectations. I worked alongside the other group leader to keep the team organized and accountable while creating an environment where members could contribute their individual strengths and expertise.
I also played a key role in managing the relationship with our corporate partner. I helped facilitate both the initial client meeting and the final presentation meeting, communicating directly with Scouting America representatives to understand their needs, clarify project expectations, and ensure our work remained aligned with the organization’s goals. This required translating client feedback into actionable direction for the team and helping maintain consistency between the partner’s expectations and our final recommendations.
As the project progressed, I helped oversee the organization and development of the team’s final deliverable. I worked with team members to consolidate the project’s research, recommendations, and supporting materials into a cohesive final presentation. I also helped refine the final copy, ensure consistency across the deliverable, and coordinate a clean, professional distribution to the corporate partner.
This experience strengthened my ability to lead collaborative teams, manage project timelines, communicate with corporate stakeholders, and move a project from initial client discovery through final delivery. Serving as Co-Leader allowed me to take on responsibilities beyond individual marketing work and develop practical experience in team leadership, client management, project coordination, and strategic marketing execution.
